PRESS RELEASE C21ETV of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, launched the international version of a one-hour made for Television documentary, entitled "Vlad the Impaler – the true story of Dracula". Transylvanian-born, Canadian Television and film producer George Anghelescu sets history straight on the common association of the Irish author’s, Bram Stoker, fictional vampire, Count Dracula, with a real Transylvanian nobleman. In a one-hour Television documentary, entitled “Vlad the Impaler – the true story of Dracula”, George places the 15th Century’s Dracula in more proper historical context. Vlad’s title and reputation for brutality came from the impaling techniques he used to wipe out his enemies. George explains the misinterpretation that Vlad is, in fact, the fictional vampire character, Dracula. The storybook vampire was, entirely whimsically, described by Stoker to live in Transylvania. Over the course of a century, Dracula fans, Hollywood and Romanian folklore created the commonly held association of the entirely, fictional Count Dracula with Vlad the Impaler, a real historic person. George states, “I give Vlad the Impaler back his picture ID. I separate the fictitious character created from Bram Stoker’s fiction from the real ruler. I also separate Vlad's identity from his father's, Vlad the Evil. I do so, because, like any human being, Vlad longs for something better than being the vampire of all nations, the demon of all ages.” The Castle of Bran, located in southern Transylvania (Romania) has become somewhat of a shrine to Dracula for a hundred years now, due to Bram Stoker, and later others, who presented and continue to write about the Castle of Bran as being Vlad's Castle. This, according to George, is a mistake. George tells the true story of the Castle of Bran to separate Vlad forever from this Castle, and clearly identifies the locations where Vlad the Impaler was born, and where he lived and ruled. He introduces to the World the Castle of Hunedoara, as being the only Transylvanian Castle that Vlad was ever connected to, and shows documents Vlad had signed as the Head of the Principality of Valahia. The documentary illustrates how history and fiction can intertwine to create lore that evolves as “popular truth”. To date, George Anghelescu’s “Vlad the Impaler – the true story of Dracula” is licensed for broadcast to Canadian Learning Television, Book Television, Space Television the Imagination Station, Drive in Classics and Access Television. International distribution, other broadcast licenses and DVD releases have been also signed and/or are under negotiations. USA and Canada

Unele spatii sunt incuiate deoarece, fie sunt intr-un stadiu avansat de degradare si exista riscul unor accidente, fie sunt restaurate si trebuie facuta receptia spatiului. Oricum este necesar un sistem de supraveghere video deoarece dupa cum ai vazut multe ziduri, panouri ... etc. sunt vandalizate de turisti. Ne bucuram insa ca ti-a placut chiar si vazut partial.
